Is ContractGuard a law firm?
No. ContractGuard is an AI-powered software tool that provides contract analysis for informational purposes only. We are not a law firm, attorneys, or legal practitioners. Our analysis does not constitute legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed. Always consult a qualified South African attorney before signing important contracts.
What types of contracts can I analyze?
ContractGuard can analyze most South African legal documents, including:
- Employment contracts
- Residential and commercial lease agreements
- Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Service agreements
- Sale agreements
- Offer to purchase documents
- Estate agent mandates
- General commercial contracts
How accurate is the analysis?
Our AI provides helpful insights and identifies potential risks, but it is not perfect. AI can make mistakes and may not reflect the most current legal developments. Use ContractGuard as a starting point for understanding your contract, not as a final legal opinion. We always recommend having important contracts reviewed by a qualified attorney.
How long does analysis take?
Most contracts are analyzed within 2-3 minutes. Complex or lengthy documents may take slightly longer. You'll receive a comprehensive report as soon as the analysis is complete.
Security & Privacy
Are my documents safe?
Yes. We take security seriously:
- 256-bit AES encryption — Bank-level security for all stored documents
- TLS 1.3 — All data encrypted in transit
- POPIA compliant — We follow South African data protection laws
- No human review — Documents are processed by AI only
Do you use my documents to train AI?
Never. Your uploaded documents are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models — not ours, not anyone else's. Your contracts remain 100% private. This is a core principle of how we operate.
How long do you keep my documents?
Documents that are not saved to your account are automatically deleted within 30 days of analysis. Documents saved to your account are retained until you delete them or close your account. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@contractguard.co.za.
Billing & Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments through Paystack, which supports:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
- Instant EFT
All payments are processed securely and we never store your full card details.
How do I get a refund?
Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In general:
- Unused credits are non-refundable
- Technical failures that prevent analysis will result in credit restoration
- Billing errors are refunded within 7 days of reporting

Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.
Account
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account and all associated data, email privacy@contractguard.co.za with your request. We will process your request within 30 days as required by POPIA. Please note that some data may be retained for legal compliance purposes (e.g., payment records).
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder or contact support@contractguard.co.za.
